Native Oaks Golf Club at Woods Valley is a 6500 yard daily fee championship course featuring tree lined fairways along a beautiful rolling terrain highlighted by excellent, bent grass putting surfaces. The layout contours around hillsides and countryside that is laced with age-old oak trees and requires strategic planning - accuracy as well as distance to score well. This is the type of course that I would wish to be in my backyard - one that I could play over and over…
The fairways present a mix of open, desert style holes and tightly tree-lined playing surfaces that lead to mildly raised green complexes that also vary in size, shape and undulation. Many are quite level, whole a few are tiered or ridged. Sizes range from small and round to sprawling. These are some of the best kept greens in the region! Doglegs that bend in either direction keep it interesting and give this course its character.
The par four tenth is a gorgeous golf hole that would be memorable on any course - a par four from a slightly raised tee, to a fairway shaped by a lake that runs alongside much of the left side. The putting surface is elevated and is well protected by five sand traps in front and right, with water to the left. All four par threes on this course are beautiful, with those on the front playing over ponds, and the two on the back side requiring carries over natural areas.
On property is a 40 station grass/mat range plus chipping/putting green. The clubhouse features a pro shop and snack area with sandwiches catered in daily and fresh hot dogs cooked on a grill. The course has yardage markers posted on some sprinkler heads, and there also are markers at 100 and 150 yards, with 150 yard stakes situated in the middle of the fairways of all par fours and fives.
There are approximately 3 dozen sand bunkers situated greenside or along the landing zones on the fairways, and water is a prominent feature with 10 holes that have hazards in play in some form or another. Four set of tees play to distances and slopes measuring 6505 yards132 slope for men and 140 for women, 6115 yards/ 126 slope for men and 134 for women, 5560 yards/119 slope for men/124 women and 5045 yards with a slope of 114 for ladies hitting from the front sets.
