Twin Oaks Golf Course (760) 591-4700
San Diego Golf Course Review
Located in San Marcos, just north of San Diego, Twin Oaks Golf Course is a Ted Robinson 18-hole championship design that meanders over nicely landscaped, natural southern California terrain with elevation changes, beautiful water features, and a natural wildlife habitat abutting many of the holes.
The 2 Oaks Pub is positioned to overlook the 18th green and serves golfers a variety of ice cold craft beers, fun traditional cocktails and a fresh, tasty homestyle menu. Throughout your day at Twin Oaks Golf Course, you can count on experiencing the professional, friendly service that is the hallmark of JC Golf.
Tournaments at Twin Oaks Golf Course are incredibly popular as the course features signature service combined with excellent course conditions and pricing that provides one of the most competitive values in the Southern California golf market. If you are looking for a beautiful banquet facility to host your next tournament or catered event, you can schedule a complimentary site tour at Twin Oaks.
Twin Oaks is also an ideal choice for a romantic golf course wedding. The new banquet facility at Twin Oaks can host up to 150 guests indoors with their own separate pre-function space. With the adjoining outdoor fireplace and patio there is no better place to create memories for a lifetime. Future brides will fall in love with long, sun splashed wedding lawn. The bridal party has their own room to prepare for the big day - making Twin Oaks an ideal choice for your southern California wedding.
Practice facilities include a large driving range with both grass and mats. A short game practice area features a chipping green and large practice green. Twin Oaks is very well marked - with yardage plates at 100, 150 and 200 yards on all par fours and fives. Stakes are located next to the cart paths at 100, 150 and 200 yards and some sprinkler heads are marked. Hole locations are designated by a colored flag on the pin.
There are three sets of tees at Twin Oaks that offer a very challenging yet fair round of golf to players of all skill levels. The back tees play 6,535 yards with a slope of 130 and a rating of 71.9. Middle tees measure 6,146 yards and have a slope of 126 with a rating of 70.1 for men and a slope of 136 with a rating of 76.3 for women. The forward tees are 5,423 yards with a slope of 128 and a rating of 71.7.
We found this course to be in superb condition during our visit. The landscaping is nothing short of perfection. Indigenous trees and grasses, and beautiful flower beds dot the course - and along with the 37+ bunkers - there are enough hazards to try to avoid off the tee! The sloping and undulating Poa-Anna greens as well as the bermuda tee boxes, fairways and rough are all well-manicured and immaculately conditioned. Three beautiful water features beget three beautiful signature holes at Twin Oaks Golf Course. Hole number seven is a difficult 142 yards par 3 with a lake guarding a two tiered green - you'll be teeing off into the prevailing winds so club selection is important here. Number 9 is a tough par four that plays downhill to a green with a waterfall feature and a pond guarding the front and right side. You'll be distracted by the beautiful landscaping here. One of the most beautiful holes on the course is the par 4 15th. This dogleg left is a true risk/reward hole with a water feature that can easily be cleared by big hitters.
